Conversations that move beyond inspiration to action.

Jessica contributes practical, lived-experience-informed insight on youth participation, wellbeing, identity, employability, leadership and building programmes with—not merely for—young people.

jessica ohaka

Bringing the ground-level reality of African youth development into the rooms that shape it.

I speak from eight years of lived and professional experience not from research conducted at a distance, but from inside the work. I have been in the programme room and the boardroom. I have run the programme and attended the meetings that were supposed to design it. I bring that dual perspective into every room I speak in.

My talks are honest, specific, and built to move people from awareness to action. I do not just talk about impact. I build it.

01

The Gap Nobody Is Closing

Why youth development interventions in Africa keep missing the people they are designed for, and what a better model looks like.

02

Transforming Learning Into Earning

What the real transition from education to economic opportunity requires, and who is responsible for building it.

03

SDG 8 in Practice

What decent work actually requires of organisations, not just governments.

04

Mental Health & Employability: One Conversation, Not Two

Why separating them produces weaker outcomes and what integrated programming looks like.

05

Building With, Not For

A new model for youth development that puts young people inside the design, not just at the receiving end.

06

Adaptive Programming in Africa

Why milestone-heavy donor frameworks are accidentally designing programmes to fail, and what real accountability looks like.

  • UN agencies and international development organisations
  • Government ministries and policy bodies working on youth
  • Foundations and donor organisations funding work in Africa
  • Universities and student leadership conferences
  • NGO and nonprofit leadership forums
  • Corporate social impact and CSR teams
  • Pan-African summits and fellowship convenings
  • Youth advisory boards and policy panels

Storytelling rooted in real experience, specific evidence from programmes I have actually run, honesty about what does not work and why, and a clear argument for what needs to change. I do not perform conviction. I have lived it”
